If you've spent enough time around Moffat Beach, you'll know there's a certain magic that happens when the sun starts dropping behind the Terrace.
The coffee crowd gives way to the after-work crowd. Boards are tucked away for the day. Someone spots a friend across the street and suddenly a quick hello turns into a two-hour catch-up. The ocean glows, the music starts rolling, and Seaview Terrace becomes the kind of place you never really want to leave.

That familiar Moffat magic is getting a festive makeover as the Moffat Beach Christmas In July Street Party returns to transform Seaview Terrace into an oceanside celebration packed with live music, incredible food and enough Christmas cheer to make you forget we're technically closer to the beach than the North Pole.
And honestly? You can't miss it.

Where: Seaview Terrace Business Strip, Moffat Beach
When: 4pm - 8pm Thursday 30 July 2026
Cost: Free to attend, ticket registration is appreciated
Dress Code: Festive Chaos Encouraged

Let's get one thing out of the way. No, there won't be snow.
No, reindeer aren't expected to make an appearance.
And yes, you'll probably still be wearing thongs.
This isn't your traditional Christmas celebration. It's a distinctly Moffat Beach version - laid-back, community-focused and effortlessly cool.
Think ugly Christmas sweaters paired with board shorts. Think a Santa hat worn with complete sincerity while eating street food by the ocean. Think live music drifting through the Terrace while locals, families and visitors settle in for an afternoon and evening that feels more like a neighbourhood gathering than a typical event.
If there was ever a place where Christmas lights and salty sea breezes belonged together, it's Seaview Terrace.

Seaview Terrace is always open to the people, however on this occaision the Terrace will close to traffic to make way for the party. The business strip will become one festive playground where locals can wander freely between restaurants, cafes and bars while enjoying live entertainment and soaking up the atmosphere.
There'll be plenty of opportunities to grab a bite, settle in with friends and discover new favourite spots along the Terrace.

If you attended the last Moffat Beach Street Party, you will know it's the locals catchup.
Expect the kind of vibe that keeps people lingering long after they planned to head home.

One of the best things about a Moffat Beach Street Party is the food.
The Terrace is already home to some of the Sunshine Coast's favourite dining spots, and on event night the precinct becomes a feast of flavours, aromas and impossible dining choices.
Make it a progressive dinner - head there for entres, then there for more entres, and lastly here for dessert.

Some events are all about the headline act. The real headliner here is the atmosphere.
The afternoon melts into evening, and live music provides the soundtrack while neighbours settle into that Moffs rhythm. It's the sweet spot between neighbourly and family that Moffat Beach seems to do better than almost anywhere else.

This is your official notice to dust off the ugly Christmas sweater.
Or the Santa hat.
Or the Christmas shirt your family refuses to let you throw away.
The more creative, the better.
Because nothing says "Sunshine Coast Christmas" quite like a Christmas jumper worn in 20-degree weather while standing 100 metres from the ocean.

Gather your friends, pull on your most questionable Christmas outfit and make your way to the Terrace for an evening of food, music and festive fun by the sea.
Because if there's one thing locals know, it's that everything is better at Moffs - and Christmas is no exception.
