Entertainment Schedule: Christmas Street Party

This free community event will be an evening filled with interactive activities, face painting, a night market, local cuisine, lighting of the grand Christmas tree, late night trading and, of course, the opportunity to experience the festive season with your family! Here's what you can expect 👇

Traveling to the Street Party just got easier!

Skip having to park the car and ride your bike or scooter to the event. Thanks to Sunshine Coast Council's ThinkChange program, we’re offering a FREE BikePark – secure parking for bikes and scooters right at the event. Simply ride in, park, and enjoy the festivities!  Register here.

**Pre-register **before the event for a FREE coffee or spring roll offer* from Banh Mi Cafe Express.

The ThinkChange BikePark will be available at Minchinton Street, between Bulcock Street and Carter Lane, from 3.30pm to 8.30pm. This means you can arrive early, park your bike or scooter securely, and dive straight into the fun without any stress.

Spin into Fun: Free Tea Cup Ride

Don't miss out on the free kids' ride, the Tea Cup Ride, operating from 4pm to 8pm at the top of Bulcock Street, right next to Strand Cinemas. This delightful attraction is perfect for the little ones, offering spinning colorful fun that will have them giggling with joy.

To make the most of this whimsical experience, be sure to beat the lines and get there early. The Tea Cup Ride is a fantastic way to add a dash of magic to your evening at Caloundra's Christmas Street Party!

Aussie World Characters Bring Extra Cheer

Could the event get more fun?! Aussie World characters are joining us at our Christmas Street Party, bringing an immense amount of energy and excitement! They'll be there for the official lighting of the grand Christmas Tree at 7:30pm, a moment you won't want to miss. Throughout the evening, you'll have the chance to make Christmas slime, watch their lively drum performance, and interact with them as they rove the event. Plus, you're invited to Aussie World's Christmas Spectacular on Saturday, December 14, 2024, for a magical night of festive fun featuring unlimited rides, dazzling Christmas lights, enchanting entertainment, carols, and so much more. Kick Off the Festivities: Local Talent Henry Catania!

We're thrilled to have Henry Catania opening the Christmas Street Party event! Well known in the Caloundra area, Henry won Caloundra's Live and Local 2023 Singer-Songwriter Competition, securing him a coveted spot at the Caloundra Music Festival. His passion for playing guitar, singing, and writing his own songs shines through in every performance. A regular at our Sunday Street Fair, Henry's talent and charm make him a delight to watch. Don't miss his captivating performance as he kicks off the festivities with his heartfelt tunes and infectious energy!

Groove into the Night with Ampersand's Funky Finale

Get ready to groove with the band Ampersand as they close the Christmas Street Party with an electric bang from 7:30pm, right after the official lighting of the grand Christmas Tree! This funky, dynamic family of experienced musos love performing. Noosa and the Sunshine Coast’s local funk family has spread their infectious brand of effortlessly improvised pop/funk fusion across the globe, thanks to their recent streaming wins.

Their high-energy performance is sure to leave everyone dancing and smiling, making it the perfect finale to a night of festive fun.

Capture the Magic: FREE Santa Selfies at Christmas Tree Lane

Santa is sponsored by the legends at Bells on Main community group and will be located amongst all the bright, colorful, and wonderful trees of Christmas Tree Lane inside the Strand Arcade from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Bring your family along, sit on Santa's lap, and snap a fun family selfie. While you're there, take a leisurely stroll through the Christmas Trees, beautifully positioned by local businesses, and soak in the Christmas spirit. It's the perfect way to capture a no cost Santa pic with your family.

The Christmas Jam Stage

Hosted by the incredible Bells on Main team, the Christmas Jam Stage is set to be a highlight of the event, featuring an array of talented musicians. Enjoy performances from Salvoes Brass, Kawana UC, BELLS Jam Sesh, and Guitar Den. Inspired by none other than Pastor Phil, this stage embodies the community spirit of BELLS on Main, a small local Uniting Church community. Located in Caloundra’s main street, BELLS on Main also hosts a variety of community activities, including a homework hub, book club, and jam sessions.

Dazzling Performances by Sunshine Coast Twirling Academy

The Sunshine Coast Twirling Academy are bringing their dazzling talents to the Christmas Street Party! Specializing in baton twirling, dance, and acrobatics, this group welcomes all ages and ability levels, offering a free trial for anyone interested in joining their incredible team. Their performances are a fun and engaging highlight of the event, so be sure to head to the top of Bulcock Street, near the Cinema, to watch them perform at 5pm, 5:30pm, and 6pm, right near the Bells on Main: The Christmas Jam stage. Don't miss the chance to see their amazing skills in action and maybe even get inspired to join in the fun!

Cheerleaders Dazzle with Daring Stunts

Cheerleading is a unique way to keep fit and have fun, while learning one of Australia’s fastest growing and most competitive sports. With their studio located in Warana, the Sunshine Coast Cheerleading team will be roving throughout the Bulcock Street event from 4pm, performing their stunts, twists, and daring turns right in the middle of the crowd.

Their high-energy performances are sure to captivate and inspire. If you're interested in trying out a new sport for 2025, don't miss their free open day on December 1, 2024. It's the perfect opportunity to experience the excitement and camaraderie of cheerleading firsthand!

Explore an Enchanting Christmas Night Market

It wouldn't be a Street Party without a night market! Run by the legends who bring you the Sunday Street Fair, Twilight Markets, and Aura Farmers Markets in Caloundra, stallholders booked out the market in record time. The street will be lined with twinkling lights, the air filled with the scent of delicious food, and stalls galore.

The night market is a treasure trove of delights, featuring stalls packed with artisan gifts and local treasures. Whether you're hunting for unique Christmas presents or just want to treat yourself, you'll find something special here. Adding to the festive cheer the Sunshine Coast Performing Arts College (SCPAC) dancers are set to dazzle the crowd! SCPAC Dance Studios in Caloundra are on a mission to provide strong, confident dancers through quality dance education. They pride themselves on having a leading teaching faculty combined with first-class facilities, ensuring every dancer receives top-notch training. All SCPAC staff promote an exciting and friendly experience in a professional and safe environment. The SCPAC dance team are sassy and ever so entertaining – they'll have you bopping and dancing from your vantage spot. Caloundra's retailers are sparkling with festive decorations as they battle it out for the best-decorated storefront this Christmas. Christmas Tree Lane is a wonderland of beautiful Christmas Trees in the Strand Arcade.

Use the Christmas Street Party as the opportunity to take a wander through the stores opening late to kick off your Christmas shopping. And it's a bonus that the Black Friday sales are rampant throughout the CBD! We're thrilled to welcome the Just Sing Out choir groups to our Christmas Street Party! Helping students of any age learn to express themselves through music, singing, and dance, Just Sing Out is a beacon of creativity and joy. Split into two large groups, these delightful singers will be gracing us with their presence as they rove Bulcock Street from 5:45pm. Led by the wonderful Jen Young, owner of Just Sing Out, their performances are sure to add a magical touch to the evening. Be sure to catch their enchanting melodies and feel the festive spirit come alive!

Caloundra Chorale: Vintage Harmony & Mr Andrew Trestrail

We're excited to welcome members of the Caloundra Chorale Theatre Company's group, Vintage Harmony, and the talented Mr. Andrew Trestrail, performing separately at the Christmas Street Party! Mr. Trestrail, a vocalist based in Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, brings his rich voice to the event.

Vintage Harmony, known for their beautiful guitar-accompanied performances, specialises in songs that lend themselves to vocal harmony, such as those by the Everly Brothers and Simon & Garfunkel. Their harmonious melodies are sure to enchant the audience. Don't miss their performance, and be sure to catch the Caloundra Chorale Theatre Company's Christmas Celebration from December 4-8, 2024, for even more festive cheer!

The Golden Beach State School Performance Team, featuring both Junior and Senior groups, will be gracing Bulcock Street with their angelic voices and adorable presence.
