Caloundra Community and Creative Hub - project update
Transformation of Caloundra's heart is taking another step forward with the scheduled demolition of the former Sunshine Coast Council chambers and administration building at 77 Bulcock Street.

This important step will help prepare the site and lay the foundations for opening up the city centre – creating a seamless pedestrian link, more green space and a welcoming public precinct.
The new public space precinct will link The Events Centre, new Library+, town square and Caloundra Regional Gallery through to Bulcock Street and the beach.
Works are scheduled to start from Monday 20 April 2026, following the Easter school holidays. Council anticipate the demolition works will take approximately four months depending on weather and site conditions.
The town square design includes family-friendly green open spaces, lighting, improved pathways and pedestrian friendly streetscapes. Works on the town square are scheduled to start in early 2027.
