Drag, Drums and Diversity Hit Kings Beach

Kings Beach is about to explode in a kaleidoscope of colour, kindness, and coastal joy.

The Hot Mess Parade is strutting into town, this is one glorious mess you will want to be part of on 27 September 2025.

As part of the Rangebow Fringe Festival, the Hot Mess Parade is shaping up to be one of the most iconic events on the Sunshine Coast calendar. Think: Surf Lifesavers in sequins, Drag Queens dancing with Scouts, First Nations Mob marching alongside Musicians, Disability Groups, the Rural Fire Service and more. All celebrating the beautiful, diverse, and delightfully chaotic community we call home.

Whether you’re rolling, dancing, marching or just vibing from the sidelines, this is fun not to be missed. Come dressed loud and proud, or just bring your best smile. This isn’t just a parade, it’s a love letter to the Coast and everyone who makes it magic.

💌 Want your community group to join the parade? Slide into their inbox at [email protected] and get amongst it.

Once the parade wraps up, don’t even think about heading home. The Hot Mess Party kicks off straight after at the Kings Beach Amphitheatre, and it’s five hours of free, feel-good chaos you won’t want to miss.

We’re talking a stacked lineup of local legends and international stars, including:

  • 🎤 Frank & Louis – local faves bringing the groove
  • 🌹 Shanleigh Rose – soulful vocals and serious vibes
  • 🎷 The Bowery Boys – brass, beats, and big energy
  • 🌍 Claudio Rabe – Madagascar-born, Réunion-based singer and composer with global flair
  • 🎸 Ben Swissa – Sydney’s soul-pop maestro with a groove-heavy sound you’ll be humming for days

Add in food trucks, festival vibes, and a box office to grab tix for the full Rangebow Festival coming soon, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate springtime afterparty.
