Heading to Winter Wunderland? Here's some Travel Tips

Best travel options, parking, and sustainable methods of getting to and from the event safely and efficiently, along with bathroom locations, where to fill up your drink bottle and where you can take a little rest.

We've ordered our clear winter skies, so prepare for a bluebird but cold Sunny Coast winters' day. Wear your walking shoes, pack your winter woollies and leave the fur babies at home snug in their beds (people and noise can be overwhelming).

Check our our socials posts for the full entertainment schedule, so you can plan your evening and don't miss a thing! The event spans the length of the Bulcock Street market strip, make sure you wander from one end to the other and, take it allll in. There's lots to see and do.

Make sure you say hi to our legend volunteers keeping an eye on the event, they will be the crew wearing hi vis vests.

Getting to Caloundra

We are located approximately an hour north of Brisbane and an hour south of Noosa. Caloundra's accessible location on the Sunshine Coast ensures that your journey here is a seamless and enjoyable experience. Whether you're arriving by car, plane, or bus, we've got you covered with all the information you need to make your trip to this coastal paradise as smooth as possible. Any which way you choose to get here, ensure you are navigating to Bulcock Street, Caloundra 4551.

Local Tip: If you live locally we recommend riding your bike, take the bus (it's easy!), share a ride with family or friends, or walking into town.

By Road: Scenic Drives and Highways

By Air: Sunshine Coast Airport
If you're traveling from afar, the Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) is your gateway to Caloundra. This modern and well-connected airport is conveniently located just a short drive from the town center. Multiple airlines offer domestic flights to and from the Sunshine Coast, making it easily accessible from major Australian cities. Car rental services and shuttle transfers are available at the airport, ensuring you can quickly get on the road to your Caloundra adventure.

Whether you're arriving from nearby regions or traveling from afar, getting to Caloundra is a straightforward and enjoyable part of your journey. Our 'Getting Here' guide ensures you have all the information you need to plan your arrival and make the most of your visit to this coastal gem on the Sunshine Coast.

Heading from Brissy? Take the Nambour Train to Landsborough Station, then the 605 bus into Caloundra. You'll arrive at the Caloundra Transit Centre a short walk through the alley into Bulcock Street. To arrive before 4pm, expect to leave Brisbane just before 1pm. Heading back to Brisbane after the event will see you travelling the 600 bus, then the 615 bus to catch the Ipswich Train from the Landsborough Station, arriving back in Brisbane around 11pm.

 Heading from Aura? It's as easy as jumping on the 608 bus straight into town. Leaving Aura Boulevard, Bells Creek at 2.52pm you'll arrive at the Caloundra Transit Centre, a short walk through the alley into Bulcock Street arriving well before the event commences. The trip back to Aura will see you arriving in about 29 mins on the same 608 bus route.

Changed Traffic Conditions:
Road closures in the Caloundra CBD will be in place from 2pm concluding at 10pm, the same format as the Sunday Caloundra Street Fair, encompassing two blocks of Bulcock Street from Otranto Avenue to Knox Avenue and Minchinton Street between Carter Lane and Williamson Lane. At all times pedestrian access will be maintained within the precinct. The Winter Wunderland event will operate from 4pm – 8pm.
