The Big Dig - Treasure Hunt
Designed to bring families together while supporting local community causes, The Big Dig invites children, parents and grandparents to take part in an exciting search for buried treasure hidden beneath the sands of Bulcock Beach.
The Rotary Club of Caloundra is proud to present The Big Dig, a pirate-themed family fun day at Bulcock Beach planned for Sunday 6 September 2026 from 9am to 12pm.
Father's Day provides a special opportunity to celebrate the important role fathers, grandfathers and father figures play in our lives.
The Big Dig has been created as a fun, active and memorable experience where children and grandchildren can spend quality time with their dads and granddads while sharing in the excitement of a beachside treasure hunt.
A designated digging area will be available where participants will search for hidden treasure tokens buried in the sand. Every discovery brings excitement, and best of all, every participant will receive a prize.
The event will attract serious treasure hunters and of course those in search of a fun morning by the beach with loved ones. The Big Dig promises a great family friendly Father's Day experience.
While The Big Dig is all about family fun, it is also an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the local community. Funds raised through the event will be distributed by the Rotary Club of Caloundra to support local charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations across the Sunshine Coast.
By participating, families will be helping Rotary continue its longstanding commitment to strengthening communities through practical support, fundraising and volunteer initiatives.
With its combination of beachside adventure, family connection, community spirit and local fundraising, the event celebrates everything that makes Caloundra a great place to live, visit and come together.
