Thirsty Beaver: New Outdoor Dining Experience
At Thirsty Beaver Bar and Kitchen, owners Craig and Jay have always loved doing business in Caloundra. Their strong local following of regular guests who love to dine at the rustic steak house has been the backbone of their success.

The crew at Thirsty Beaver strive to make their restaurant a happy, friendly environment with a real emphasis on great customer service and consistently: bloody good food! When choosing their restaurant and menu style, Craig and Jay wanted to create a point of difference in Caloundra that you can't find anywhere else. Their team works daily on making small improvements to ensure an incredible experience for all, which has led to steady growth for the restaurant.

A victim of their own successes, their growth hasn't come without its challenges. Thirsty Beaver's crew have often had to turn away guests because the restaurant would fill up too quickly. Having to come up with a solution, Craig and Jay thought outside the box and came up with the idea of renovating their back storeroom into an American-style diner. This unique concept not only provides a distinctive dining experience but also eases the pressure of finding room for their growing flock of diners.
"Most of our guests love our outdoor dining, so we've also built a gazebo to allow for all-weather dining and create an outdoor street dining experience" says Craig. "We had the basic drawings for our pagola, and the structure was supported by local Building Certifiers, with drawings done by local Caloundra Design and construction completed by a local Sunshine Coast builder".

Thirsty Beaver has a live music focus every Sunday from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, we've just commenced live music on Fridays from 6pm to 9pm, supporting local artists. "Our unique offering includes low & slow smoked meats like brisket, short ribs, pork ribs, half chicken, and great steaks. Our lunch special is popular, or you can add a drink a few extra dollars".

Craig and Jay have created a casual American vibe in their restaurant, making it a perfect spot for both locals and visitors. "We chose Caloundra to do business in 2018 because we felt the place was growing in tourism and had great support from the local council, markets, street parties, Beachfest event, and more. Caloundra is becoming the best location on the coast to visit for tourists, especially families, and our family is based here" says Craig.
