This tournament will change how you see basketball

One of the most inspiring sporting events of the year is about to hit the court. The Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Annual Tournament is back this January, and trust us, you’re going to want front-row seats for this one.

For the uninitiated, the Suncoast Spinners are an inspiring local club. Based right here on the Coast, this incredible crew champions inclusivity through wheelchair basketball and rugby, welcoming both physically disabled and able-bodied athletes. It’s sport without limits, and the energy is contagious.

Over three action-packed days, some of the country’s finest athletes, and a whole lot of heart, head to the Sunshine Coast. It’s a showcase of determination, skill, and pure grit. Players range from six-year-old rookies to sixty-year-old legends (yes, sixty!), and the competition spans three levels, from beginners to Australia’s elite. If you’ve never seen wheelchair basketball in action, prepare to have your mind blown. The speed, the strategy, the sheer talent, it’s next-level.

If you are a die-hard basketball fan or looking for something seriously cool to do this summer, this event shouldn't be missed. Bring the fam, and your mates, and get ready to cheer from the sideline. It's a sport breaking barriers, building community, and celebrating resilience in its rawest form. And, you'll get to see it all in Caloundra.

When: 16, 17, 18 January 2026 (three-day tournament)
Where: Caloundra Indoor Stadium, Sunshine Coast
Why: Because witnessing this level of skill and spirit is something you’ll never forget.

Spectators are welcome, and entry is free so, there’s really no excuse. We’ll see you courtside.
