The Heroes Bringing Back Carols in Caloundra
Caloundra’s heart has been missing a beat every December. Families ask each year, “Will the Carols come back this year?” and the answer has been a disappointing no.
Without Carols in Caloundra, we lose a cherished tradition that once united thousands of Sunshine Coast locals and visitors in joy, connection, and community. It was a special multigenerational event where grandparents sang alongside toddlers under the stars.
Year after year, the comments rolled in: “When’s Carols coming back?” The community’s longing was loud and clear. The event was a tradition that defined the festive season on the Coast. And now, thanks to an incredible wave of local support, Carols in Caloundra is back on the calendar for Saturday 13 December 2025 at Kings Beach Amphitheatre.
Council funding alone can’t carry the weight of this beloved event. Without the support of our business community, the magic of Christmas in Caloundra risks fading further into memory. That’s why the Caloundra Business Alliance (CBA), aka @ShopCaloundra on socials, set out on a very important mission:
Bring the Sunshine Coast community together in a joyful, inclusive, and accessible Christmas celebration that reflects local character, supports local talent and businesses, and activates public spaces.
The vision? A free community picnic event that caters for visitors from Brisbane to Gympie, showcases talented local entertainers, features food trucks and local restaurants, face painting, community group involvement, and an MC to keep the vibes high. Smiles, laughter, and fun times for all.
When the call went out, the response was overwhelming. Offers of volunteers, businesses pledging funds, first aid teams stepping up, fencing and AV services donated. The generosity of Caloundra’s community said one thing loud and clear: We want Carols back, and we’ll make it happen.

Behind the scenes, community groups like the Caloundra Market Team, The Salvation Army, Rotary Club of Caloundra, and Steps are rolling up their sleeves to make this event unforgettable.
On Saturday 13 December 2025 from 4pm Kings Beach Amphitheatre will come alive with carols, local talent, food trucks, kids’ activities, and plenty of festive cheer. It’s completely free, family-friendly, and guaranteed to bring back the magic we’ve all been missing.
